  Ovarian Cyst and Causes The most common causes of ovarian cysts are hormonal imbalance, pregnancy, endometriosis, and pelvic infections. Ovarian cysts are fluid sacs that form on the surface of the ovary. Every woman has two ovaries, one on each side of her uterus. The cyst  tends to form when the ovaries  produce too much estrogen hormone. In some cases, the cyst may cause the ovary to twist, blocking  blood supply and causing severe pain, bleeding. An ovarian cyst can be a causal factor of infertility  among women, the larger cyst that grows requires an operation or use of strong herbs to make it go, but  sometimes it goes itself.  Ovarian cyst symptoms and pain Ovarian cysts do not always cause symptoms. If you have a large pelvis or abdomen, you may experience dull or sharp pain on one side. Bloating and a heaviness in your lower abdomen are also possible.
